Agnes M. Aelker
OTTAWA – Agnes M. Aelker, 98, of Ottawa died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa. She was born August 7, 1914 in Leipsic to the late Frank and Veronica (Meyer) Schmiedebusch. On May 27, 1936 she married Julius F. Aelker who died May 25, 1992.
She is survived by her six children: John (Joan) Aelker, Leo (Kathy) Aelker, and Anna Ruhe all of Ottawa, Carl (Tina) Aelker of Longwood, FL., Rose (Larry) Basinger of Columbus Grove, and Rita (Michael) Schroeder of Findlay; seventeen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son: Joseph; a daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Thomas Kiene; three brothers: Victor, Carl, and Harold Schmiedebusch; three sisters: Mary Schmiedebusch, Esther Rieman, and Clara Siefker; and a son-in-law: Herman Ruhe.
Agnes was a homemaker She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Education Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
