Alan W. Niemeyer

OTTOVILLE – Alan W. Niemeyer, 60 of Ottoville died 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family.  He was born January 18, 1957 in Van Wert to the late Alphonse and Rosemary (Giesken) Niemeyer.  On September 5, 1981 he married Angela "Angie" Siebeneck, who survives in Ottoville.

He is also survived by three children:  Jillian Little of Columbus Grove, Susan (Brandon) Kaufman of Ottawa and Matthew Niemeyer of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren:  Makenna, Kaden, Caleb, Parker and Maxwell; eleven siblings:  Norma (Wayne) Turk, Mary Jane Averesch, Ruth Hoorman, Ronald (Mary Lou) Niemeyer, Chuck (Anne) Niemeyer, Tim (Chris) Niemeyer, Paul (Ellen) Niemeyer, Jann (Jerry) Eickholt, Marcia (Dan) Eickholt, Mary Jo (Jerry) Miller, and Rose (Mark) Krietemeyer.

Alan is preceded in death by 2 brothers:  Jerome Niemeyer and Dan Niemeyer; a sister:  Sally Niemeyer; 2 brothers-in-law:  Bernard Averesch and Gene Hoorman and a sister-in-law:  Jean Niemeyer

Alan retired from Eaton Corporation, Van Wert.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.  Alan was also a member of the Ottoville Knights of Columbus, the Kalida Fish and Game Club, the NRA and ODNR.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.  Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where a scripture service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
