Alberta L. Ruhe

GLANDORF - Alberta L. Ruhe, 90, of Glandorf died at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday at The Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born December 11, 1926 in Putnam County to the late John F. and Frances (Schroeder) Ellerbrock. On June 15, 1949 she married Thomas A. Ruhe who died September 19, 2013.

She is survived by five children: Jerry (Kathy) Ruhe of Glandorf, Linda (Tom) Heckman of Ottawa, Greg J. (Carol) Ruhe of Glandorf, Ann (Randy) Boss of Ottawa, and Sue (Mike) Smith of Glandorf; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and one on-the-way; two sisters: Dolores Bockrath of Kalida and Jane (Norbert) Bockrath of Glandorf; a brother, Harold (Doris) Ellerbrock of Ottawa; and two sisters-in-law: Theresa Ellerbrock of Leipsic and Imogene Ellerbrock of Ottawa.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers: James (Alvina) Ellerbrock, Andrew Ellerbrock, Karl Ellerbrock and Robert Ellerbrock; two sisters: Margaret (Clete) Kerner and Betty (Jim) Smith; a brother-in-law, Leonard Bockrath; and a sister-in-law: Lucille Ellerbrock.

Alberta was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf,  its Altar Rosary Society, an adult Mass server, and a Precious Blood Companion.  Family was the center of Alberta's life; especially spending time with the grandchildren.  She was very crafty and enjoyed creating wooden Christmas gifts for the family with her husband Tom.  She also very talented with her knitting, crocheting and sewing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 1:45 p.m. and a Parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
