Alice Mae Hunt

OAKWOOD – Alice Mae Hunt, 87 years, 11 months and 24 days old, of Oakwood, died at 3:37 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was born April 27, 1935, in Continental to the late Andrew and Henrietta (Walter) Beair. On July 23, 1953, she married George Edward Hunt, who preceded her in death December 16, 2021.

Survivors include two children: Ralph (Elizabeth) Hunt and Deborah (Charles Jr.) Doan, both of Oakwood; three grandchildren: Melissa (Eric) Dearth, Michael (Heather) Hunt and Ryan (Tiffany) Doan; and three great-grandchildren: Megan Dearth, Jamy Hunt and Addison Hunt.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caitlyn Mae Doan; and a brother, Leroy Beair.

Alice was a homemaker and lifelong farmer. She loved taking care of her family and farm.  She enjoyed canning, cooking and embroidery.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Eric Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
