Alice J. McCormack
Alice Jeanne Etchen Roan McCormack died at 7:00 am, April 29th, 2015 at the Meadows of Leipsic, OH. She was born to Roscoe and Verda (Elliott) Etchen on October 2, 1923 in Hicksville, OH. Alice attended Hicksville Schools, and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1941.
Alice married William A. "Bill" Roan on November 7, 1945, in Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death in 1966. Alice married the Rev. Lynn E. McCormack on September, 20, 1975. Together they served the St. Paul's UMC in Montpelier until they retired to their home at Marblehead in 1988. In 1990 they moved to the Meadows of Leipsic where they now live.
Alice worked in the Defiance Courthouse, Ohio Power Company, Hicksville Hospital Office, and retired from the Hicksville Building, Loan, and Savings Company. She was an Eastern Star at Lima, OH. She had been very active in Eastern Star at Hicksville. She was also a member of Ohio and National American Legion Auxiliary, served as treasurer of Hicksville Grace United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Leipsic UMC.
Surviving are her husband: Lynn E. McCormack; a sister: Vanita (Harry) Street of Hicksville; step-daughter: Minda (Ron) Jones of Hicksville; step-daughter-in-law: Jill Burley McCormack of Hicksville; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; and 1 nephew. She's also survived by 3 great-nieces; 5 great-nephews; 2 great-great nieces; and 1 great-great nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; one day old twin siblings Louis and Louise; and a step-son Brent McCormack.
Viewing will be at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, OH from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, then 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at SMITH-BROWN FUNERAL HOME in Hicksville, OH. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Smith-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Street officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, OH.
