Alice L. Niese

LEIPSIC-Alice L. Niese, 95, of Leipsic died 1:03 a.m. Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Bridge Hospice, Findlay.  She was born February 24, 1926 in Columbus Grove to the late William A. and Catherine (Meyer) Fuerst.  On April 29, 1947, she married Ralph C. Niese who died April 3, 1968.

She is survived by 4 children:  Diane (Dan) Zeisloft of Leipsic, Doris (Duane) Karhoff of Ottawa, Duane Niese of Ottawa and Doyle (Sue) Niese of Leipsic; a daughter-in-law:  Lois Niese of Leipsic; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister: Bernice Unterbrink of Glandorf; and a brother: Karl (Pat) Fuerst of Columbus Grove.

Alice was preceded in death by a daughter: Phyllis Niese; a son:  David Niese; and 2 brothers:  Marvin and Maurice Fuerst.

Alice retired as a clerk for White's Drugstore, Leipsic.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and its Altar Rosary Society.  She devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren.  She loved to play cards and watch game shows.

The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Father William Pifher officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and again Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  There will be a scripture service at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
