Alice Joanne Spitnale

Continental - Alice Joanne Spitnale, 71,  passed away peacefully at 6:04 a.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Meadows of Leipsic.  She was born February 17, 1946 in Defiance  to the late Carl and Rosemary (Gerber) Spitnale.

Alice is survived by her sister, LaDonna Engle and brother-in-law, Gene Engle of North Carolina, and Engle children: Ken, Michael, Vicki and Jenny; nephew, Douglas (Lynn) Hershelman; great-nephews and great-niece: Eric, Michael and Julia Hershelman all of Wellesly, MA.; Nephew: Brent (Patricia) Spitnale, Great-nieces: Jane and Susan Spitnale all of Sparta, NJ;  great-nephew: Peter (Lisa) Surprenant and great-nieces Renee Surprenant and Lauren (Taylor) Haines.  She is also preceded in death by two brothers: Carl Lee and Robert J. Spitnale.

Alice enjoyed many years with roommate Margaret Allemeier living in Ottawa and the last years at the Meadows of Leipsic.  She worked several years at Brookhill Industries.  Her love of music included both polka and  country.  Alice grew up in Putnam County and attended Continental and Brookhill Schools.

Mic Kohls and many other people in Putnam County, as well as her family, helped make Alice's life special and interesting.  Alice became a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, in 1985.

Alice's family extends a special thank you to The Meadows of Leipsic's staff for their loving care and Putnam County Hospice.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at LOVE FUNERAL  HOME, Ottawa, with Deacon Jim Rump officiating.   Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental.  Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Meadows of Leipsic.
