Allan R. Brown
MILLER CITY – Allan R. Brown, 64, of Miller City, died at 5:31 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born September 12, 1947 in McComb to the late Bernard and Norma (Schmitz) Brown.  On October 25, 1969, he married JoAnn Schroeder and she survives in Miller City.  Also surviving are 4 children:
Steven (Sharon) Brown of Glandorf, Pamela (Dean) Schroeder of Miller City, Roxane (Denny) VonderEmbse of Miller City and Bradley (Nicole) Brown of Miller City; 15 grandchildren:  Kaitlin, Marissa and Derek Brown, Mallory, Tyler and Amanda Schroeder, Brianne and Cayla Troyer, Samantha, Nathan and Brian VonderEmbse, Hannah, Kayleigh, Mya and Braydon Brown; 2 sisters: Joyce (John) Fenbert of Leipsic, Kathy (Bernard) Meyer of Ottawa; 5 brothers: Gary (Rosemary) Brown, Denny (Edna) Brown of Ottawa, Leroy (Marjorie) Brown, Carl (Margie) Brown and Arnold (Donna) Brown all of Miller City.
Allan retired after 44 ½ years as Parts Manager with Homier & Sons in Continental. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City and a U.S. Navy Vietnam Era Veteran.  He was also a member of the Ottawa Eagles, Miller City Sportsmen's Club, former Village Councilman and retired from the Miller City Fire Dept after more than
30 years. He enjoyed golfing and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Allan was a very caring husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Fr. Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa American Legion and VFW.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday and 2 to 8 pm Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a parish Rosary at 2:00 p.m.
