Obituary

Amy Lammers Gremillion

LAFAYETTE, LA - Amy Vanessa Lammers Gremillion, 51, of Lafayette, Louisiana, died peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 11, 2024. She was born August 19, 1973, to the late Ronald E. Lammers, and Mary Jane (Niese) Lammers of Columbus Grove, Ohio. The heart of Amy's world was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph R. Gremillion, and their cherished children, Gabriel and Maria Gremillion. On December 22, 2006, Amy and Joseph made their wedding vows in a memorable ceremony held in Lima, Ohio.

Amy's early years in Ohio were filled with the joys of a close-knit family. She grew up alongside her siblings - Hope (Greg) Brinkman, Curtis (Abbie) Lammers, Elton (Amy) Lammers, the late Albert Lammers, and Faith (Neil) Stechschulte -creating an unbreakable bond that would last a lifetime. Amy's love extended to her in-laws, Susan (Joey) Perrier, Carol Hritz, and Lynn (Glen) Pickett. Amy's grandparents, the late Edmund & Alma Niese and Melvin & Edith Lammers, embraced her into eternal rest along with her late father and mother-in-law Joseph A. and Toni Gremillion. Her memory will also be cherished by her many nieces, nephews, and the entire Lammers and Gremillion families. A graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School, Amy furthered her education at Lima Technical College, where she earned an associate's degree in social work. Her passion for helping others led her to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, which she provided comfort and healing to many. She was a member of the Association of American Women of Aberdeen, Scotland, and the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service) Missions Chapter of Lafayette, LA. Her role as a Catechist Teacher at St. Joseph's of Milton, LA, allowed her to share her faith and wisdom with the next generation. Amy was an avid traveler, finding joy and inspiration in new cultures and experiences. Norris Lake, TN held a special place in her heart, where she spent countless hours creating memories with her loved ones. Amy enjoyed painting which brought her immense peace and fulfillment. Her love for reading was matched only by her commitment to prayer and spiritual study, which guided her through life's challenges and triumphs. We celebrate Amy Gremillion's life lived with purpose and love. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
