Andrew Jacob "AJ" Settlemire

LEIPSIC – Andrew Jacob "AJ" Settlemire, 28, of Leipsic, passed away at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his residence.  He was born March 1, 1996, in Marion to Kevin and Barbara (Busdiecker) Settlemire. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include two brothers: Nick (Kayla) Settlemire of Leipsic and Cody Settlemire of Mendon; two nephews: Xavier Shaffer and Isaac Settlemire; a niece, Skylar Settlemire; and a paternal grandmother, Clara Marie (Schreiber) Settlemire.

He was also preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Delbert Settlemire; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Lucille (Shenk) Busdiecker.

AJ worked for Steel Tech, Ottawa and was a social member of the Leipsic VFW and Eagles. He loved having a wrench in his hand, working on cars and motors, and enjoyed the demolition derby, where he helped with the Hosler Demo Team. AJ never knew a stranger and was always the first person to stop and help someone in need.

Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
