Andrew "Drew" Joseph Altenburger
CLOVERDALE - Andrew "Drew" Joseph Altenburger died from injuries sustained from an ATV accident on Friday, July 25, 2014.
This beautiful son was born in Lima, Ohio to James L. and Karla M. (Miller) Altenburger on August 20, 1985. A proud and loving husband, he married the love of his life, Jamie A. Price, on August 3, 2013. Drew was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church serving on the parish council and a 2004 graduate of Ottoville High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for Miller Contracting Group in Ottoville, Ohio.
He is survived by his beautiful bride, Jamie, a proud brother, 2nd Lt. James L. Altenburger of Pensacola, Florida, his loving parents Jim and Karla, maternal grandfather Alfred J. Miller of Cloverdale. He loved the company of his new in-laws Jeff and Shelley Price, Justin Price, Matt, Carli, Isaiah and Elijah Roby. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Leo and Myra (Brinkman) Altenburger and his maternal grandmother Marcella (Kahle) Miller. He had numerous loving and proud aunts, uncles and cousins. He was fond of and loved to celebrate holidays, weddings, and circle time with his blessed family. He leaves behind many friends as he never knew a stranger. A sparkle in his eyes, always a smile, he embraced life and lived it to its fullest. An outdoorsman, he loved hunting, canoeing, Arctic Cat snowmobiles, Honda dirt bikes and his dog, Daisy. He enjoyed operating his 308 Komatsu. Times with his "Pops" and brother in the shop were always golden.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. There will be a scripture service 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Barbara Catholic Church Building Fund in Drew's memory, in which he was a proud and active supporter.
