Angela M. (Klear) Schroeder

COLUMBUS GROVE - Angela M. (Klear) Schroeder, 85, of Columbus Grove, formerly of New Bavaria passed away at 5:39 p.m. Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Meadows of Kalida. She was born March 23, 1931 near New Bavaria to the late Martin and Helen (Warniment) Klear.  On August 2, 1950 she married the love of her life, Alphonse C. Schroeder, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria.  He preceded her in death on August 19, 2014 after celebrating 64 years of marriage.

Angela was a devoted mother to five sons and six daughters: Rev. Roger Schroeder SVD, Chicago; Gloria Hermiller, Columbus Grove; Marty (Linda) Schroeder, New Cleveland; Denny (Jayne) Schroeder, Leipsic; Anne (Dwain) Schroeder, Columbus Grove; Phyllis (Bernie) Kleman, Columbus Grove; Karen (Dane) Newlove, St. Marys; Joan (Karl) Schimmoeller, Ft. Jennings; Elaine (Alan) Schroeder, Columbus Grove; Karl (Sue) Schroeder, Columbus Grove; and Roy (Kim) Schroeder, Glandorf; 34 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 on the way; a sister, Mary Snyder, New Bavaria; a brother, Deacon Ken (Mary) Klear, Ottawa; her in-laws:  Juanita Klear, New Bavaria, Mary Ann Klear, Ottawa, Donatus Schroeder, Ottawa, Ruth Klear, Glandorf; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a son-in-law, Len Hermiller;  sister:  Rita (Leo) Gerschutz; 3 brothers:  Paul (Lucille) Klear, Joe Klear, and Norbert Klear; and in-laws: Virgil (Junilla) Karhoff, Gene Klear, Bob Snyder and Margaret Schroeder.

Angela was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society for 35 years until moving to Columbus Grove in 1993.  She was currently a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove.  She graduated from Holgate High School.  Angela enjoyed quilting and polka dancing.  She was a member of the Ohio Polka Boosters, Parents of Priests-Diocese of Toledo and a Marriage Encounter alumnus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with her son, Rev. Roger Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
