Anita J. Armey CONTINENTAL – Anita J. Armey, 75, of Continental died at 2:42 a.m. Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her residence.  She was born January 14, 1950, in Lima to the late Ralph and Freda (Curl) Nelson.  On August 7, 2003, she married Thomas L. Armey, who survives in Continental.  She had previously been married to Michael Troyer, who survives in Cloverdale. Also surviving are 4 children:  Jesse (Heidi) Troyer of Clyde, Jeremy (Veronica) Troyer of Continental, Jaime Armey of Defiance and Jen (Chad) Okuley of Continental; 2 stepchildren:  Joshua Armey of Angola, IN and Erin (Brian) Recker of Kalida; 23 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother:  Erwin (Cathy) Nelson of Ada; a sister-in-law:  Marilyn Nelson of Lima and a brother-in-law:  Frank Roof. Anita is preceded in death by 2 brothers:  John Nelson and Gary Nelson; 2 sisters:  Patty Roof and Peg Cook; and a granddaughter:  Brooklyn Okuley. Anita was a homemaker and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental.   She was fondly known as Granny.  She loved to watch her grandchildren in their activities.  She liked working outside in her yard and enjoyed cooking and baking holiday cookies. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Church, Continental with Father Phil  Smith officiating.  Burial will be at a later date.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19th at the HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
