Anna V. Ruhe

OTTAWA – Anna V. Ruhe, 85 of Ottawa died 1:45 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born August 21, 1937, in Putnam County to the late Julius and Agnes (Schmiedebusch) Aelker.  In April of 1968, she married Herman Ruhe.  He died March 3, 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Julia Ruhe of Ottawa; five siblings: John (Joan) Aelker of Ottawa, Carl (Tina) Aelker of Florida, Leo (Kathy) Aelker of Ottawa, Rita (Mike) Schroeder of Findlay and Rose (Larry) Basinger of Columbus Grove.

She was also preceded in death by two siblings: Joseph Aelker and Mary (Thomas) Kiene.

Anna was the Bookkeeper for Sts. Peter and Paul Church for 24 years.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, its Altar Rosary, Ottawa Eagles Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters of America.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2023, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Friday from 9 am until the time of service at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, 916 E. MAIN STREET, OTTAWA OHIO.  A scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
