Ann A. Bonifas
OTTOVILLE – Ann A. Bonifas, 92, of Ottoville, died at 8:44 a.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. She was born November 14, 1919 in Monterey Township, Putnam County to the late Andrew and Rosa (Weber) Hoehn. On August 30, 1950, she married Jerome Bonifas and he died September 15, 1980. Surviving are 9 children: Jane (David) Kahle of Kalida, Paul (Joyce) Bonifas of Kalida, Martha (James) Miller of Landeck, Thomas (Judith) Bonifas of Kalida, Patricia (Virgil) Schroeder of Glandorf, Robert Bonifas of Ottoville, Doris (Joseph) Bockey of Delphos, Sharon (Carl) Mesker of Spring Lake, MI, and Donald (Kathleen) Bonifas of Fort Jennings; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Walter (Toni) Hoehn of Lima; 4 brothers-in-law: Arthur (Alice) Bonifas of Delphos and Richard (Jane) Bonifas of Landeck, Albert (Eileen) Bonifas, Jr. of Landeck, John (Lori) Bonifas of Alpena MI; a sister-in-law: Dorothy (Elmer) Hoffman of Delphos. She was preceded in death also by a great-granddaughter: Alexis Mack; 2 brothers: John (Alberta) Hoehn, Lawrence Hoehn; a sister: Hilda (Wilbert) Menker; 3 sisters-in-law: Agnes Hoehn, Rosie Hoehn, Betty Hoehn and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Albert Sr.and Mary Catherine Bonifas
Ann retired from Schnipke Engraving in Ottoville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a 1937 graduate of Ottoville High School and volunteered at Paradise Oaks and Meadows of Kalida Nursing Homes. Ann was strong in her faith, devoted to God and taught her family to love one another. She was a wonderful role model and proud of her large family. She enjoyed working on the family farm, having her family together and playing cards and bingo. Her sharp memory was with her to the end. She was truly loved and will be missed by all those she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday and 2 to 8 pm Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (on the corner of St. Rt. 224 & 634).
