Anna M. Yaufman

OTTAWA – Anna M. Yaufman, 96, of Ottawa, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2024 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born November 21, 1927, in Ottoville to the late Adolph and Regina (Wiechart) Miller.  On November 22, 1952, she married John Yaufman, who preceded her in death on December 15, 2010.

Anna is survived by 12 children: Mary Yaufman, Sue (Dave) Ellerbrock, Joann (Jim) Gerken, Kathy (Dave) Scheckelhoff, Linda Yaufman, Mike (Melanie) Yaufman, Janice (Mark) Kaufman, Paul Yaufman, Amy (Gerard) Ellerbrock, Dede (Terry) Lammers, Shirley (Melvin) Schmitz and Andrea (Steve) Liebrecht; 28 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Elma Kaufman; 2 brothers: Robert "Cookie" (Louise) Miller and John (Janie) Miller; and 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Miller and Marilyn Miller.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marie Yaufman; a son-in-law, Steve Niese; 2 brothers: Ray and Gerald Miller; and a brother-in-law, Ray Kaufman.

Anna retired from Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa. She also worked for Delphos Grain and Soya and was a former 4-H advisor. Anna was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and its Altar Rosary Society. Music was one of her favorite hobbies, as she used to play saxophone in Tony Schlagbaum's Band and violin for the Putnam County Kitchen Band. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loved praying the rosary.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer, Fr. Kent Kaufman and Deacon Eric Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will begin at 7:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
