Arthur C. Schimmoeller
OTTOVILLE – Arthur C. Schimmoeller, 83, of Ottoville, died 12:40 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Van Crest of Delphos. He was born October 10, 1930, in Fort Jennings, to the late Edmund H. and Martha (Turnwald) Schimmoeller. On June 13, 1953, he married Delores B. Hermiller. She died November 6, 2010.
Survivors include eight children: Dianne (Steve) Carlisle of Indianapolis, IN, Cheryl (David) Kleman of Ottoville, Jeff (Elaine) Schimmoeller of Ottoville, Doug (Heidi) Schimmoeller of Bryan, Kevin Schimmoeller of Ottoville, Scott (Kelly) Schimmoeller of Ypsilanti, MI, Lori Laudick of Lima and Brian Schimmoeller of Hilliard; eighteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Eugene (Helen) Schimmoeller of Cloverdale and Roger (Cathy) Schimmoeller of Fort Jennings; and two sisters: Mary Lou (David) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove and Ruth Lucke of Fort Jennings.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Doris Ann (Henry) Honigfort.
Arthur retired as a manager from the Ottoville Telephone Company. He was very instrumental in the progression of the Ottoville-Cloverdale telephone and cable systems. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville; US Marine during the Korean Conflict and six years in the Reserves; Fort Jennings American Legion; Ottoville VFW; Ottoville Lions Club and an avid supporter of the Ottoville Athletics.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville with military rites by the Ottoville VFW and the Fort Jennings American Legion. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where a scripture service will begin at 2p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ottoville Athletic Boosters or to the charity of the donor's choice.
