Arthur J. Warnecke

KALIDA – Arthur J. Warnecke, 83 of Kalida, died 2:20 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at The Meadows of Kalida.   He was born September 11, 1940, in Kalida to the late Urban and Agnes (Meyer) Warnecke.

Survivors include four children: Beth (Nancy) Hock of Montana, Ron (Julie) Warnecke of Indianapolis, IN., Chuck (Kerry Lehman) Warnecke of Kalida, and Jeff (Stephanie) Warnecke of Sylvania; mother of children: Betty (Ricker) Kinstle of Elida; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Borgelt of Shelby and Margie (Raleigh) Forsthoefel of Celina; a brother, Bob Warnecke of Kalida; and a sister-in-law:  Sue Warnecke of Lima

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Wilfred (Margaret) Warnecke and Don Warnecke; a sister, Alice (Bernie) Wolke; a brother-in-law, Jim Borgelt; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Warnecke.

Arthur retired from Unverferth Manufacturing, Kalida after 40 plus years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and life member of Kalida Knights of Columbus, Kalida Fish and Game, Ottawa Eagles and Sportsman Alliance. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, finding a bargain and making wine.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church.
