Barbara J. Cattell

Deshler - Barbara J. Cattell, 87, of Deshler died at 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Meadows of Ottawa. She was born May 12, 1938, in West Leipsic to the late Charles A. and Anna (Miller) Medley. On June 16, 1961, she married Harry D. Cattell, who preceded her in death on July 25, 2005.

Barbara is survived by 5 children: Randy (Robin) Cattell of Fostoria, Darla (Paul) Warren of Bluffton, Tim (Angela) Cattell of Fairfield, Susan (Matt) Wilder and Scott (Doris) Cattell, both of Pedro; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Mary Medley and a niece and best friend: Judy (Jerry) Pierman of Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara is preceded in death by her 8 siblings: Esther (Donald) Punches, Sarah (Elbert) Mull, Charles (Beverly) Medley, Jr., Dorothy (John) Cox, Ruth Kinder, Ethel Medley, Howard Medley and Cleal Medley.

Barbara was a homemaker. She grew up going to the West Leipsic EUB Church, then attended the Deshler Presbyterian church and finally attended the Leipsic United Methodist Church. Barbara loved baking and gardening, but her family was her greatest treasure and enjoyed spending her time with them.

There will be no visitation or services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadows of Ottawa or Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
