Barbara A. Burwell

KALIDA - Barbara A. Burwell,  87, of Kalida,  died at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Meadows of Kalida.  She was born January 30, 1934 in Kalida to the late Floyd "Jake" and Pauline "Pinky" (Fanger) Felkey. On July 18, 1953, she married Laurence F. Burwell. He died on May 21, 1980.

Survivors include three children: Rick Burwell of Kalida,  Jane (Roy) Hogsett of Las Vegas, NV and Ken (Jenny) Burwell of Miller City. Also surviving is a brother, John "Bill" Felkey of Kalida; five grandchildren: Andrew (Georgina Lane) Burwell, Chelsey Burwell, Michael (Morgan Lane) Hogsett, Captain Jason (1st Lieutenant Kelsey) Hogsett, Brandie (Robert Emory) Hogsett.  Other survivors include: Madison and Katie Lane.

She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Felkey.

Barbara graduated from Kalida High School in 1952. She formerly worked at City Loan and Unverferth Manufacturing. She was on the Kalida Town Council for four years. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, as well as, the Rosary Altar Society.

Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In keeping within the guidelines of social distancing, visitation will be Thursday 2- 8 p.m. with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home and/or the church.
