Barbara J. Moorhead

LEIPSIC – Barbara J. Moorhead, 79 of Leipsic, died 8:39 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at The Meadows of Leipsic.  She was born August 7, 1943 in Ottawa to the late Edward and Helen (Thompson) Utendorf.  On August 12, 1967, she married Scott Moorhead who survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include two sons: Jeffrey Moorhead of CA and David (Angela) Moorhead of Livonia, MI; three grandchildren; and three brothers: Jim Utendorf of Kalida, Don (Joanie) Utendorf of Dayton and Bud (Judy) Utendorf of Arlington Heights, IL.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice "Sis" and Justin McCarthy.

Barb taught many grade levels for over 30 years at various schools; Leipsic Public, St. Mary's Catholic, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic, Delphos St. John's Catholic as well as substitute teaching in Michigan and Ohio.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and had taught religion.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the mass Wednesday at the St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
