Barry L. "Porky" Kuhlman

OTTAWA - Barry L. "Porky" Kuhlman, 72, of Ottawa, died at 7:37 a.m., Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born May 4, 1951, in Lima to the late Raymond and Catherine (Maidlow) Kuhlman.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Darcie Rieman; two children: Devon (Tasha Smith) Kuhlman and Nathan Kuhlman, both of Findlay; six siblings: Dean (Cindy) Kuhlman, Dave (Brenda) Kuhlman, Beverly (John) Potts, Kevin (Joan) Kuhlman, all of Ottawa, Jeff (Rhonda) Kuhlman of Gilboa and Mike (Lynn) Kuhlman of Ottawa; and his beloved dogs, Jack and Taz.

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Evelyn Ann Kuhlman; and a sister, Marjorie (Richard) Dysert.

Barry retired in 2006 from General Motors, Defiance. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles, Ottawa American Legion and Van Wert Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed camping, playing cards, cornhole, hot rods and spending time with his sons.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday and  9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. There will be a scripture service at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
