OTTAWA - Beatrice H. (Siefker) Hovest age 97 of Ottawa, Ohio died on April 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 19, 1924, in Miller City, the fifth of seven children to Conrad and Gertrude (Kohls) Siefker. On November 23,1957, she married Donald (Berg) Hovest, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2010.
Bea is survived by five children, Tony (Cindy) Hovest, Frederic Hovest, Dr. Christine Hovest, Beth (Keith) Hempfling, all of Ottawa and David (Mary) Hovest of Lake Leelanau, MI. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Hovest.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tony (Meghan) Hovest, Torey (Jenny) Hovest, Chelsea (Michael) Escamilla, Ashley (Jeremy) Duling, Stephanie (Jake) Kahle, and Kadie Hempfling; eleven great-grandchildren: Ezra, Milo, Lane and Gus Hovest; Landon, Liam, and Nina Hovest; Leah and Noah Escamilla; Ethan and Savannah Duling; and two more on the way.
She is also survived by a sister, Patricia Weber of Menomonie, WI and her sister-in-law Patricia Hovest of Ottawa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her other siblings, Wilma (Edward) Kreinbrink, Charles (Rosemary) Siefker, Paul (Margaret) Siefker, Julia Siefker, Reverend James Siefker, and a brother-in-law, Herman Weber, preceded her in death as well as her in-laws, Richard (Lenore) Hovest, Betty (George) Maag, Stanley (Dorothy) Hovest, and Greg Hovest.
Bea was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Altar Rosary and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She had a thriving professional career. She worked in the world of business as a bookkeeper, amongst other positions, and attended Loyola University, Chicago. Upon her return to Putnam County, she married her loving husband, Donald, and devoted herself to her children.
Bea was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and watching them in all their activities. Later in life, her greatest joy was visiting with her great-grandchildren and reading to them.

A Funeral mass will begin 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating and broadcasted livestream on Sts. Peter and Paul's Facebook page. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the mass Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
A scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
