Benjamin G. Hovest
CHICAGO - Benjamin G. Hovest, 34, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Pandora, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1981 in Bluffton to Gerard and Nancy (Meyers) Hovest. His father and stepmother, Tonia, survive in Pandora and his mother also survives in Pandora.
He is also survived by his paternal grandparents: Dottie Hovest of Glandorf and Paula Engard of Leipsic; maternal grandparents: William and Angela Meyers of Ottawa; three brothers: Travis (Stacy) Hovest of Beaufort, SC., Stanley Hovest II of Raleigh, NC., and Elijah Hovest of Lima; a sister: Toria Hovest of Pandora; a stepsister: Brittany Bermudez of Lima; a nephew: Aiden Hovest; and two nieces: Claire Hovest and Brooklynn Weis. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers: Stanley "Tip" Hovest and Larry Engard.
Ben was a manager at CVS Pharmacy. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a life member of Ottawa VFW. He was a 2000 graduate of Pandora High School and DePaul University, Chicago in 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora with military rites by the Ottawa VFW, American Legion and Am Vets. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with a VFW service at 7:00 p.m.
