Bernard C. "Barney" Ellerbrock

LEIPSIC – Bernard C. "Barney" Ellerbrock, 87, of Leipsic died 12:40 a.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born January 6, 1931 in Lima to the late Lawrence and Clara (Maag) Ellerbrock.  On June 11, 1953, he married Donna Marie Lehman.  She died October 30, 1992.

Survivors include four children: David (Susan) Ellerbrock, Ann (Kevin) Evers both of Leipsic, Lois Tobe of Lima and Gerard (Amy) Ellerbrock of Leipsic; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Ellerbrock of Findlay; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and three on the way.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Martin Ellerbrock and infant Stephen Ellerbrock; a son-in-law, Roy Tobe; and a brother, Tom (Ruth) Ellerbrock.

Barney was a lifelong dairy farmer who could fix just about anything.  He taught his children the value of hard work and shared many lifelong lessons with each of them.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leipsic.  Barney enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic as well as 9:30 until the time of mass on Wednesday at the Parish Life Center.  A scripture service will begin at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Memorial donations may be given to the Parish Life Center or the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP).
