Betty J. Parker

LEIPSIC - Betty J. Parker, 93, of Leipsic, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday May 18, 2016 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born January 8, 1923 in Willard to the late Harley J. and Elizabeth (Williams) Collier. On March 18, 1945 she married Darel Parker who died September 4, 2012.

She is survived by a son:  Richard (Bobbi) Parker of Ottawa and two grandsons: Evan Parker and Tristan Parker. Betty was also preceded in death by a daughter: Rev. Judy Parker; a grandson: Matt Parker; eight siblings: Francis Karns, Robert Collier, Fred Collier, Chuck Collier, Jim Collier, Mary Fraker, Harold Collier, and Alice Rosebrook.

Betty was a homemaker and a graduate of Deshler High School. She was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a longtime custodian. She was also a member of the DAV Auxiliary.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Jeff Bandy officiaiting. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the American Cancer Society.
