Betty (Strawser) Geckle Wells

CONTINENTAL - Betty (Strawser) Geckle Wells, 92, passed away at 3:13 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Brookview Healthcare Center, Defiance Ohio. She was born on April 4, 1928 in Paulding County, Ohio to the late Samuel and Rosie (Cotterman) Strawser. On February 15, 1947, she married Clarence Geckle. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1976. She later married Gilmer Wells, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children: Richard (Judy) Geckle of Continental, Bonnie Moore of Continental, Carolyn Ludemann of Continental, Irene Geckle (Emiliano Nunez) of Cloverdale, Lester Geckle of Edgerton, Norman (Julie) Geckle of Continental, Connie Geckle of Pandora, and Laura Stiles of Orange Park, FL.; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren with one on the way, two great-great grandchildren with one on the way; one sister-in-law, Carol Dunifon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four children: Francis, Ronnie, Barbara, and Rita; two sons-in-law: Leroy Moore and Rick Ludemann; a grandson: Dustin Geckle; a great-grandson: Ryan Moore; three brothers: Marion (Wilma) and James (Anna) Strawser and Frank Dunifon.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, Ohio. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery in Continental at a later date.
