Betty J. Grime

KALIDA – Betty J. Grime, 97, of Kalida, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Meadows of Kalida.  She was born February 8, 1926, in Keiferville to Gladys Miller.  Betty was raised by her mother and Alfred Schwatzengraber, who both precede her in death.  On November 30, 1945, she married Richard F. Grime, he preceded her in death on February 2, 2011.

Betty is survived by a son: Gary (Karen) Grime of Kalida; a daughter-in-law: Terese Grime of Van Wert; eight grandchildren:  Jay Grime, Brandon Grime, Cindy (Clark) Roberts, Lisa (John) Blue, Travis (Kristen) Parsons, Jamie (Beth) Grime, Brian (Kris) Grime, and Mike (Jessi) Grime; several loving great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Elma Baeza and Carolyn Rau.

She is preceded in death by a son: Daryl Grime; sisters: Edith Fisher, Lucille Anderson, and Thelma Pitney; and a brother: Robert Kohls.

Betty enjoyed following the family watching their sporting events.  She also loved to cook.

Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, with Pastor Terry Porter officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Kalida.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
