Betty I. Nartker

Kalida -- Betty I. Nartker, 89, of Kalida died 12:44 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Rita's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 27, 1926 in Toledo.  She was the only daughter of the late Clem and Loretta (Verhoff) Schulte.  On May 29, 1948 she married Harold T. Nartker, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1999.

She is survived by her 3 children:  Susan (Dick) Martz of Columbus, Barb (Randy) Conrad of Lima and Jeff (Linda) Nartker of Kalida; a daughter-in-law:  Linda (Ken Brinkman) Nartker of Kalida; 5 grandchildren:  Krista (Matt) Pohlman, Brad Martz, David (Abbie) Nartker, Stacy (Landon Maurer) Nartker and Chad Stateler; 6 great-grandchildren:  Austin and Claire Nartker, Avery and Resse Pohlman, Cameron Martz and Zander Stateler; and her Shih-tzu: Sophie.   Betty is preceded in death by a son:  Dennis Nartker.

Betty retired from the Kalida Local Schools where she was a bus driver for many years. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, it's Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and Altar Rosary Sodality.  She coached the high school girls summer softball team and the Putnam County Pacers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening.
