Bobbie J. "Shep" Artressia, Sr.
LEIPSIC – Bobbie J. "Shep" Artressia, Sr., 73, of Leipsic, passed away 9:51 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born July 3, 1940 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Jean and Mable (Brooks) Artressia. On March 25, 1967, he married F. Ann Finkenbiner. She passed away June 28, 2001.
Surviving includes three children: Fred (Dawn) Finkenbiner of North Baltimore, Leigh Anne (David) Flores and Amy (Abel) Diaz both of Leipsic; nine grandchildren: Andrew Finkenbiner, Zackary Finkenbiner, Danielle Flores, Sarah Ramirez, Josh Ramirez, Anthony Artressia, Adriana Diaz, Santana Diaz and Dallas Diaz; two brothers: Joe (Wanda) Artressia of St. Petersburg, FL and Charles Artressia of Wyoming; two sisters: Sylvia "Cookie" (Paul) Kruse of Cecil and Diana Martin of Oak Harbor; a brother-in-law, William Edgar of Defiance; and two sisters-in-law, Wilma (Jesse Gallegos) Stuber of Leipsic and Betty Berger of West Leipsic.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bobbie Artressia, Jr.; three brothers: Larry, Wayne and Jeff Artressia; and three sisters: Patricia Greenhill, Lucille Artressia and Shirley Edgar.
Bobbie retired from Philips L.G., Ottawa in 1997 and worked as a cross guard for the Leipsic Elementary. He was a US Navy Veteran; a member of New Hope Bethel United Methodist Church, Leipsic Rod and Gun Club and a lifelong Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Leipsic Viking Fan. He loved fishing and hunting and watching his grandchildren play sports. No child was a stranger and he loved when they called him "Paw".
Funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at LOVE-HEIMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Tom Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Plain Township Cemetery, Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic.
