Bonnie Jean Hector

GILBOA – Bonnie Jean Hector, 78, of Gilboa died at 8:49 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She had a true love for Jesus and was very happy to meet her maker.  She was born on December 7, 1943 in Bluffton to the late Ernest and Lona (Welty) Bauman. On June 10, 1961, she married Wayne Hector, who survives in Gilboa.

Other survivors include two daughters: Kathy (Ron) Kaufman and Susan (Randy) Watkins, both of Gilboa; 9 grandchildren: Nicholas (Kendra) Wentz, Brianne Wentz-Culver, Lindsay (Quincey) Jackson, Melinda Kaufman, Ronald (Roni) Kaufman, Courtney Watkins, Jessica Watkins, Brittney Watkins and Shea (Caleb) Tijerina; and 16 great-grandchildren: Cole Wentz, Alexis Wentz, Denver Wentz, Dylan Bryan, Preston Culver, Piper Culver, Emerson Swinehart, Nikeea Heston, Teneea Heston, Socoya Jackson, Peylee Johnson, Shylee Kaufman, Ronald Kaufman, Kamea Kaufman, Shane Watkins and Chauncey Jarrell; a sister, Dorothy Lugibihl of Bluffton; and a brother, Winfred (Elaine) Bauman of Pandora.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Hector; a great-grandson, Bradley Wentz; three siblings:  Barbara (Bob) Koontz, Frederick (Lena) Bauman and Carrie (John) Miller; and a brother-in-law: Luke Lugibihl.

Bonnie worked as a dispatcher for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and retired from Ohio State Highway Patrol, Findlay as dispatch and secretary. She loved being a member of Gilboa United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking, and baking, especially cookies for inmates in the Ohio prisons. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and neighbors very much.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Gilboa United Methodist Church with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating.  Burial will follow at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.  Visitation be from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
