Carol Cattell, RN

KALIDA - Carol Cattell, 67, of Kalida died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 22, 1949 in Defiance to the late LaVerne and Mildred (Vennekotter) Seimet. On June 29, 1968 she married Dennis Cattell who survives in Kalida.

Also surviving are two children, Chad (Tina) Cattell and Jody (Sharon) Cattell both of Kalida; four grandchildren, Ali (Chris "Digger") Gerding, Dana (Alex Shaffer) Cattell of New Bavaria, Evvy Cattell and Maddie Cattell both of Kalida; one great-grandchild, Colton "Cheeks" Gerding; a brother, Richard (Joan) Seimet of Ottawa; a sister, Doris (Richard) Birkemeier of Ottawa; and two half sisters, Rhonda (David) Spees of Ridgeville Corners and Lanna (Bob) Addis of Antwerp. She was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Cattell and a sister, Marilyn Nartker.

Carol graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf High School and received her RN from Lima Technical College. She had previously worked at Lima Memorial and St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, and most recently the Mennonite Home in Bluffton. She was a bus driver for Kalida School. Carol was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a CLC Rosary at 7: 30 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
