Obituary

Carol Louise Schroeder

LEIPSIC – Carol Louise Schroeder, 88, of Leipsic, passed away at 5:25 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2026, at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born October 22, 1937, in Ottawa to the late Robert J. and Ruth M. (Brockman) Recker. She had been married to John V. Schroeder. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include six children: Tina Beall of Valrico, FL, Cindy (Tim) Meyers of Fostoria, Pam (Denny) Maag of Findlay, Keith (Janice) Schroeder of Leipsic, Jule “Tood” (Mitch) Hiegel of Leipsic and Kevin (Candy) Schroeder of Van Buren; 17 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stu Beall; and a brother, Mick Recker.

Carol was a 1955 graduate of Kalida High School. She retired from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, where she worked as a secretary for many years. Carol’s biggest joy was spending time with her children.

The family would like to thank The Meadows of Leipsic, Putnam County Homecare and Hospice, and Pam Brandt for their great care and compassion for Carol.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Jennings. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Life Center, Leipsic.

Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Masses.
