Carol J. Loehrke Ellis

OTTAWA - Carol J. Loehrke Ellis, 91, of Ottawa, passed away 3:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Hilty Home, Pandora.  She was born on January 14, 1931, in Dayton to the late Victor and Margaret (McGee) Showalter.  On August 20, 1949, she married Pastor Eugene Loehrke.  He died June 30, 1993.  Then she married Pastor Frank Ellis in 1999 until his death in 2002.

Survivors include two children: Timothy (Susan) Loehrke of Warren and Jeffrey (Joyce) Loehrke of Ottawa; three step-children: Ed (Sally) Ellis of Piqua, Hellen (Don) Hollis of Lindsey and Patty (Tim) Keller of Ellenton; five grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Loehrke; and two siblings: Victor Showalter and Lynne Hufziger.

Carol was a paraprofessional with special needs children for Westlake Schools and Erie-Ottawa County Schools in Westlake, Huron, and Port Clinton.  She loved to laugh and always said that she lived a good life with faith, family, and friends. One of her favorite scriptures was from 2 Timothy4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith".

Funeral service will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022, at New Creation Lutheran Church, Ottawa with Rev. Ken Pollitz officiating.  Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury, 7682 N. Eastwood Ave, Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio 43440.

Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
