CAROLE W. MUNGER
TAMPA, FL - Carole W. Munger, of Tampa FL passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 after a short illness.
She was born November 18, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan only child to the late Clella Clair and Sylva Juanita (Radabaugh) Worley.  She is survived by many friends who love her.
She was a 1965 graduate of Gilboa High School; obtained an Associate Science in Registered Nursing from Hillsborough Community College in 1977; a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tampa in 1980; and a Master's of Science with major in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of South Florida in May 1995. She then completed a second major in Gerontological Nursing in December 1995,  received her ARNP license in 1996 and worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as well as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in State of Florida.
As a professional Nurse and ARNP Carole worked at Operation Par Largo St Pete Substance Abuse Center, the University of Tampa Student Health Center, and Tampa General University Psychiatry Center.  One of Carole's many skills was Sign Language for the Deaf. She served 17 years as interpreter for the deaf at First Baptist Church of Tampa; interpreted various college/technical classes for deaf students at technical schools and University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida.
Carole was a member of the Tampa Bay Advanced Practice Nurses Council of Hillsborough County, Florida, the West Coast Chapter of Advanced Nursing Practice, Pinellas County, Florida, and the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network.
Her professional activities consisted of Critical Incidence Response Team Member, Hurricane Opal, Florida Panhandle, October, 1995; NPACE Advisory Board from 1999-2003 and was a Presenter at "Substance Abuse," NPACE Conference, Orlando, Florida, in April 2001.
In 2010, Carole golfed for the first time with a group at Clearwater Country Club and had a great time. She preferred co-ed golf and made many friends on many courses. Although she thought she was a terrible golfer, she loved the outdoors and social aspects of the game. Trying to improve her game she took lessons and continued to love the sport devoting many after work hours teeing up.
A private burial ceremony will be held in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa, Ohio.  Arrangements by Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Ottawa, Ohio.
