Carolyn L. States

DUPONT – Carolyn L. States, 79, of Dupont, passed away at 6:18 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born on August 12, 1943, in Dupont to the late Paul and Lavern (Bidlack) Hanefeld.  On April 14, 1962, she married Theodore James "Ted" States. He survives in Dupont.

Other survivors include two children: James (Kathryn) States and Tamara States, both of Dupont; two grandchildren: Brian C. Thacker and Nicholas (Haley Spangler) States; and one great-grandchild, Elainie J. States.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lottie (Paul) Carder.

Carolyn retired from Campbell Soup, Napoleon. She was a member of Dupont Church of God.  She loved gardening and her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Dupont Church of God with Pastor Josh Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
