Carolyn Ann Rau

CONTINENTAL – Carolyn Ann Rau, 84, of Continental, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at her niece’s residence. She was born August 5, 1942, in Kieferville to the late Alfred F. and Gladys L. (Miller) Schwartzengraber. On December 30, 1997, she married Melvin Rau, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.

Carolyn is survived by a sister: Alma Baeza; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by siblings, Edith Fisher, Robert Kohls, Betty Grime, Martha Anderson, and Thelma Pitney.

Carolyn had worked as a waitress at the Dew Drop Inn, Ottoville. She was a member of the Delphos Eagles and Van Wert Moose. Carolyn loved hummingbirds, working in her garden and her flowers.

Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
