Catherine H. Gudakunst

OTTOVILLE – Catherine H. Gudakunst, 93, of Ottoville passed away at 9:06 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 2019 at her residence.  Catherine was born February 24, 1926 in Ottoville to Martin and Lucy (Rekart) Bendele.

She is survived by her children: Gary (Paula) Gudakunst of Ottoville, Susan Grime of Van Wert, and Jan Gudakunst of Ottoville; a daughter-in-law: Renee Gudakunst of Ottoville; a sister: Marty Gerdeman of Ottoville; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Catherine is preceded in death by two sisters: Salome Bendele and Marie Zerkel; five brothers: Jerry, Jim, Paul, John and Dick Bendele; a son: Paul Gudakunst; and a great-grandson: Tate Griner.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society.  Catherine retired from I & K Distributors. She enjoyed gardening, being out in nature, crocheting, reading and music.  She loved to bake and cook new recipes. She also loved her cats.  Catherine was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
