Catherine Jean (Jeanie)  Plummer

Formerly of Ottawa and having resided at Primrose Retirement Community in Findlay for the past two years, Catherine Jean (Jeanie) Plummer, 94, passed away at 10:27 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015. Born in Continental, Ohio on January 13, 1921 to the late Corbin and Clara (Anderson) Sullivan.  She married William Alan Plummer on December 20, 1942.  He preceded her in death on February 22, 2002.

Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie L. (Paul) Conley, Carey, Ohio and a son, William A. (Linda) Plummer, Perrysburg, Ohio. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Surviving are seven grandchildren: Michael (Lisa) Conley, Blythewood, South Carolina, David (Karen) Conley, Sunrise, Florida, Jeffrey (Jill) Conley, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Kimberly (Jason) Bryant, Tampa, Florida, Brian Plummer, Perrysburg, Ohio, Elizabeth Stackhouse, Destin, Florida, and James (Rachel) Bristol, Norton, Ohio;  ten great grandchildren:  Marla Kay Conley, Delaware, Ohio, Kathryn, Kendra and Kyla Conley, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Allison Conley, Sunrise, Florida, Seth Stackhouse, Destin, Florida, Julie and Louis Bristol, Norton, Ohio, Madalyn and Harper Bryant, Tampa, Florida; a sister-in-law: Mrs. Rex (Ann) Plummer, Paulding, Ohio; a brother-in-law: Robert Johnson, Grover Hill, Ohio; and many caring and loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, David LeRoy Sullivan and two sisters, Helen Daeger and Mary Elizabeth Hiltner.

Jeanie was a 1940 graduate of Continental High School.  She worked as a photo tinter for photography studios in Ottawa and Findlay.  In 1953 she became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa where she was a member of the WSCS and later the United Methodist Women.  She will be remembered for her love of baking cookies and pies by her family and friends—especially raisin pies for Church events. She enjoyed being a stay at home Mom to her children and enjoyed the time she could spend with her grandchildren and family.

A Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa with Rev. Lynda Lockwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.  Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, as well as one hour prior to service at Trinity UMC.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice, Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa, Putnam County Council on Aging or Primrose Retirement Community.
