Cecelia "Dorothy" Klausing

OTTAWA – Cecelia "Dorothy" Klausing, 95, of Ottawa, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Meadows of Ottawa. She was born April 29, 1927, in Leipsic to the late Ben and Helen (Kottenbrock) Brinkman. On July, 24, 1948, she married Alfred Klausing Jr., who preceded her in death on March 17, 1992.

She is survived by two sisters: Dolores (Don) Alt of Ottawa and Pat Scott of Vandalia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Klausing; and two brothers: Mel Brinkman and Marvin Brinkman.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, where she served on many committees. She loved reading, cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, flowers and gardening.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass on Thursday at the church.
