Cecelia R. Zeller
Leipsic - Cecelia R. Zeller, 89, of Leipsic died 12:55 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born December 7, 1925 in Greensburg Township, Putnam County, Ohio to the late Joseph and Amelia (Schroeder) Verhoff. On March 2, 1957, she married Donald C. Zeller who died August 11, 2013. They were married for 56 years.
Cecelia is survived by three children: Dale (Lucy) Zeller of Leipsic, Carl Zeller of Gahanna and Linda (Steve Ellerbrock, fiancee) Cox of Ottawa; a granddaughter, Lauren Cox; 5 step-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; Marjorie Verhoff of Lima; and many nieces and nephews that she cared about dearly. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Frank (Dorothy) Verhoff, James "Joe" Verhoff and George Verhoff; a sister: Mary (Joseph) Meyer and a son-in-law: Charles Cox.
Cecelia was a homemaker and was employed at Sylvania Electric in Ottawa and worked as a cook at the former Putnam County Acres Care Center and she retired from the county. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and its Rosary Altar Society; member of the Leipsic American Legion Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She supported all causes that benefited the American Soldiers. She also volunteered many hours for the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards and polka dancing with her husband, Donald. She loved spending time with her children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with The Very Reverend George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic where there will be a Legion Auxiliary service at 7:45 p.m. and a Rosary at 8:00 p.m. and 9 till time of service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sisters of Notre Dame Province-Toledo or to the charity of donor's choice.
