Obituary

Charlene Stucky

OAKWOOD – Charlene Stucky, 85, of Oakwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 8:22 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2026. She was born March 14, 1941, in Oakwood to the late George and Erma (Timbers) Thomas. On April 22, 1960, she married Phillip “Phil” Stucky. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2021.

Survivors include two children: Bradley (Karen) Stucky of Bryan and Buff (Tony) Tracy of Continental; eight grandchildren: TyAnna, Elijah, Shelby, Ezekiel, Zoe, Chelsea, Becky and Nick; eight great-grandchildren: Stella, Gideon, Layla, Leni, Galilee, Jasper, Olivia and Alonzo; and a son-in-law: Tim (Pam) Erford of Oakwood.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barb Erford; and a brother, Bob Thomas.

Charlene was a teacher’s aide at Oakwood Elementary. She loved being involved in the community. Charlene was the owner of Wood U Drive-In Skating Rink, and Phil’s Diner. She was a member of the Oakwood Park Board and helped at the Oakwood Library. Charlene was an EMT for Oakwood Fire and EMS and a member of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary, Oakwood. She enjoyed going to Sunset Beach, North Carolina

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Eli Tracy officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
