Charles S. Balmas
KALIDA – Charles S. Balmas, 78, of Kalida died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Meadows of Kalida. He was born March 12, 1933 in Monett, MO to the late Eli and Lola (Jackson) Balmas. On June 23, 1959, he married Sonia "Sue" John and she died September 21, 1985.
Surviving are 2 children: Steve (Lindy Donaldson) Balmas of Columbus Grove, Peg (Tim) Cain of Columbus Grove; 4 step-grandchildren; Chad (Sarah) Cain, Chuck (Deborah) Cain, Brandy (Jason) Sims and Nichole Wagler; 5 step-great-grandchildren: Kearah, Audrina, Ethan, Xavier and Timothy; 2 grandpuppies: Axel and Bella; a brother: Tom (Sue) Balmas of Monett, MO; Norma Dean (C.K.) Bowman of Frystat, MO and Etta Mae (Ronald) Framton of Hutchison, KS. He was preceded in death also by a step-grandson: Willie Cain; a brother: James Balmas and a sister: Betty Jean Balmas.
Charles retired as an insulator from Local 41, Heat-Frost Insulators Union of Fort Wayne, IN. He was a member of Kalida Fish and Game Club, Cloverdale Fish and Game Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday and 2 to 8 pm Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Kalida Fish and Game Club or Putnam County Hospice.
