Charles B. Bruskotter

OTTAWA – Charles B. Bruskotter, 89, of Ottawa died at 10:32 a.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf, OH. He was born June 10, 1926 to the late Alphonse and Sylvia (Kestly) Bruskotter. In September of 1948 he married Marilyn Gulker who died May 20, 1987. On July 1, 1995 he married Julie Hueve who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are nine children: Vicki Steffan of Columbus, Steve (Mary) Bruskotter of Ottawa, Nancy (Charles) Nestor of Huber Heights, Amy Bruskotter of Columbus, Ted Bruskotter of Ottawa,  David (Lonna) Bruskotter of Findlay, Dana (John) Imm, Zachary Bruskotter, and Emma Bruskotter all of Ottawa; seventeen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Charles was a chemical engineer for 40 + years at Sylvania / Philips of Ottawa and a member of its Quarter Century Club.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa where he was a lector. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and was a lifetime varsity member of Track and Field for pole vaulting. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Charles was on the Ottawa Town Council for 20+ years and a member of the Ottawa American Legion and VFW. Charles was on the Ottawa Park Board and Tree Commission. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed golfing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW and AM VETS. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorials may be made to SPP School Endowment Fund, Ottawa Park Board, or the Ottawa Tree Commission.
