Charles Vincent Burgei

OTTOVILLE - Charles Vincent Burgei, 67, of Ottoville went to heaven on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his residence.  He was born July 28, 1953 in Lima to the late Vincent and MaryLou (Wischmeyer) Burgei.  On April 8, 1978 he married Deb Wehri, she survives in Ottoville.

He is also survived by his children: Aaron Burgei of Ottoville, Rae-Ann Sanders of Ottoville, and Emily (Bruce) Haggard of Delphos; his grandchildren:  Kara, Courtney and Kendall Burgei of Ottoville, Alexis and Jaxon Sanders of Ottoville, and Hali (Ethan Lauck) and Chelsi Haggard of Delphos; his siblings: Linda (Jim) Utendorf of Grover Hill, Steve "Speedy" (Carol) Burgei of Kalida, Nick (Lisa) Burgei of Ottoville, and Carolyn (Dale) Horstman of Cloverdale.

Chuck was retired from International Harvester and Federal Mogul.  He was currently working at Lock 16 in Ottoville.  Chuck loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.  He enjoyed watching the Ottoville Lady Green Basketball and the Ohio State Buckeyes.  He also enjoyed playing cards.  Chuck was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville and the Ottoville VFW.

Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held Monday 4 to 8 p.m. with a scripture service at 3:45 p.m. at LOVE-HEITEMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. Due to the restriction of COVID 19, masks are required when entering the funeral home and/or church.
