Charles J."Jim" Critten Sr.

LEIPSIC - Charles J. "Jim" Critten, Sr., 74, of Leipsic died at 7:23 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence.  He was born January 22, 1943 in Lima to the late Russell and Agnes (Bensman) Critten.  On June 13, 1964, he married Virginia Brooks who survives in Leipsic.

Jim is also survived by five children: Charles "Jimmy" Critten, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Dean Critten of Marrero, LA, Steven Critten of Leipsic, Timothy (Amanda) Critten of Leipsic and Billy (Brian) Sallee of Alger; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Earl (Betty) Critten of Paulding; and two sisters: Susan Beard of Reading, MI and Rita (Ray) Shew of Deshler.

He is also preceded in death by four sisters: Marilyn Burkhart, Donna Powell, Deloris Critten and Agnes Critten; two brothers: Thomas Critten and Larry Critten; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Beard.

Jim retired in 2005 from General Motors after over 47 years and had also been an auxiliary police officer for Leipsic.  He was a classic car buff and loved his two Camaros, was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. and The Ohio State Buckeyes Football.   He loved to travel to Las Vegas and New Orleans, spending time with family, especially the grandkids, and camping.

A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, with Rev. Tom Graves officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.   Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
