Charles E. Medley

WEST LEIPSIC - Charles E. Medley, 90, of West Leipsic died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born April 2, 1926 in Leipsic to the late Charles A. and Anna May (Miller) Medley. On November 13, 1947 he married Beverly A. White who died January 14, 2003.

Surviving are three daughters: Priscilla (Don) Wolverton of Leipsic, Teresa (John) Weekly of West Leipsic, and Christine (Jeff) Gillogly of Pandora; six grandchildren: Brian (Maribeth) Wolverton, Melissa (Doug) Hopkins, Jolene (Kyle Strohl) Thornton, Richard Thornton, Katie (Nick French) Ellerbrock, and Michael Ellerbrock; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Ruth Kinder of West Leipsic, Dort Cox of Leipsic, and Barbara Cattell of Leipsic; and two brothers: Howard Medley of West Leipsic and Cleal Medley of Kalida. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Sara Mull, Esther Punches, and Ethel Medley.

Charles was a retired semi-truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Leipsic VFW and Lima Teamsters Union 908. He was a former West Leipsic Councilman. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Tim Eding officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, West Leipsic, with military rites by the Leipsic American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday  and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
