Charles Howard Miller
FINDLAY - Charles Howard Miller, age 81, of Findlay, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, January 23, 2026, at The OSU James Cancer Hospital following a brief battle with leukemia. He was born October 19, 1944, in Warren, Ohio, to Marion E. (Costello) Miller, age 26, and Charles Henry Miller, age 24.
Charles was known as “Chuck” or “Charlie” to his friends and “Punk” to his family. Chuck spent the vast majority of his life in Ottawa, Ohio. He attended Ottawa Public School and had a career spanning about 35 years at Sylvania Electric (later Philips). He was a proud veteran of the US Army, a Vietnam veteran, and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. What he was most proud of and what made him the happiest was his partnership with four dear friends in the ownership of Pike Run Golf Club for over 40 years. Of course, he loved the game of golf and spent many hours enjoying the game at his beloved Pike Run. Chuck was married twice but never had any children of his own. He spent his last 15 years with his friend, Terri Kiernan.
Chuck is survived by his brother, Don, Don’s wife, Barb, and their children, Allison, Bryan and Tim, as well as Chuck’s sister, Debra, and her children Charles, Sam, and Mia. Chuck also had two stepchildren, Megan and Troy Hyman who he loved very much. In addition, Chuck’s dog, Holly, who was his constant companion over the past seven years, will miss him dearly. She has been adopted by Chuck’s former partner, Bob Buckland, which would make Chuck very happy.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2026 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Rev. Susan Kronbach. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and again on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Chuck will be buried beside his parents at Harman Cemetery in Gilboa, Ohio with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW, AMVETS and DAV.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that individuals perform a random act of kindness, because that’s the kind of person that Chuck was. He was always ready to put other’s needs above his own.
