Charles E. Nash
OTTAWA – Charles E. Nash, 63, of Ottawa died at 1:16 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his residence as the result of a fire. He was born September 16, 1948 in Bluffton to Charles and Jessie (Burkholder) Nash. His father is deceased. His mother survives in Leipsic. Also surviving is a son: Charles Chance Jacob Nash of Columbus Grove; a brother: Clark (Lisa) Nash of Leipsic; 2 sisters: Cheryl (Steve Slygh) Nash of Perrysburg and Crystal Nash of Los Angeles, CA; nieces and nephews: Mindi (Steve) Trout; Matthew (Jennifer Donnelly) Nash; John Nash, Jackie Nash, Alexi Nash Alison Nash and great-nieces and nephews: Kayla and Gage Trout.
Chuck was a self-employed painter. He was a former member of Pleasant Grove Church. He was a graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and attended The Ohio State University, Columbus. As a youth he was a purebred duroc hog breeder and champion showman but spent most of his life as a drummer in rock bands including "The Gutz" and "Action Thrills and Romance". Chuck marched to the beat of a different drummer but he was that drummer. He was charismatic and it was natural that he became a performer as a drummer and vocalist.
Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 noon Monday, February 20, 2012 at Gilboa United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Graves officiating. Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service Monday at the church. There will be a meal following the service also at the church.
