Charles C. "Chuck" Niese
MILLER CITY -- Charles C. "Chuck" Niese, 64, of Miller City, died 6:50 a.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 21, 1950, in Lima, to the late Cornelius "Honey" and Lou Ann (Kleman) Niese. On September 5, 1970, he married Therese Recker, who survives in Miller City.
He is also survived by 8 children: Kelly (Randy) Buss of Kalida, Chad (Lynne) Niese of Miller City, Lisa (Shail) Duhaime of Melbourne, FL, Jill (Randy) Niese, Rodney (Jodi) Niese, Martin (Amy) Niese, Bob (Vicki) Niese and Gwen (Chad) Gratz all of Miller City; 21 grandsons; 6 granddaughters; 10 siblings: John (Connie) Niese of Columbus Grove, James (Nancy) Niese of Miller City, Teresa (Daryl) Lammers of New Cleveland, Larry (Debra) Niese, Richard (Bonnie) Niese both of Miller City, Linda (Jon) McKanna of Dublin, Peg (Kenneth) Schroeder of Findlay, Louis (Carla) Niese of Miller City, Donna (Kenneth) Konst of New Cleveland and Carla (Scott) Ellerbrock of Miller City.
Chuck was preceded in death by a son Nicholas Niese and a brother Steven Niese.
Chuck was a lifelong farmer and had also worked for Con Agra Foods in Archbold for the last 25 years. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Miller City American Legion Post 172, Ottawa Eagles and the Miller City Sportsman Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Father Stephen Schroeder, Father Odo Recker, and Father Ralph Recker officiating Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A rosary will be said by the Ottawa K of C at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Brookhill or Putnam County Hospice.
